St Andrew’s Medical Institute (SAMI) has worked with clinical, academic and technology partners to develop a single powerful technology platform which: Provides integrated data management analysis and reporting processes; Enables real-time risk-adjusted performance monitoring and review for clinical audit, clinical governance and risk management; Facilitates risk-adjusted benchmarking of patient outcomes against local, national or international criteria; Informs practical outcome-focussed education strategies and clinician-led change management processes; Supports patient outcome research in multiple medical and surgical specialties.
Centrally coordinated, this platform underpins the SAMI Network (SAMI-Net) and is the foundation of a system for bringing Applied Medical Intelligence to the delivery of clinical excellence. SAMI-Net Overview March 2009 SAMI has been granted official recognition by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for the following SAMI-Net Audit program for use as an approved audit tool. SAMI-Net Mitral Valve Repair Audit to be used as an approved focused audit. SAMI-Net Cardiac Surgery Audit to be used as an approved focused audit.
