Who we are
Every patient admitted to hospital deserves outstanding results. St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital focuses on providing first class treatment to patients to achieve world class results. However, it takes vision, leadership, skills, resources and commitment to deliver these results consistently. The purpose of St Andrew’s Medical Institute (SAMI) is to facilitate the achievement of these outcomes by collaborating with first-class private specialists and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital. St Andrew’s doctors are not only expert practitioners but they are also strongly committed to the clinical excellence necessary to underpin the world-class results of the hospital. In applying to work at the hospital, medical practitioners agree to participate in practice and outcomes auditing, as well as in education and research. SAMI focuses on refining the methodologies behind the clinical practice with the intent of developing performance standards and methods to inform clinician-led change to ensure the best patient results. SAMI aims to be an international leader in bringing a system of applied medical intelligence to the delivery of clinical excellence. Our commitment to clinical excellence allied with strong leadership and cutting edge research mechanisms will propel us toward this vision.
